The membership of the Education and Training Committee comprises members of the Board and others co-opted from appropriate related organisations or individuals who have appropriate experience. The Committee is chaired by a member of the Board, usually nominated by the Chair of the Board.
The Education and Training Committee meets regularly to discuss issues around the criteria which denote competence to practise as a public health specialist or public health practitioner and may propose any changes to the educational qualifications and training requirements which allow entry onto the UKPHR.
It reviews regularly, and can propose changes to, the methods and processes which will enable the competence of applicants for registration to be reliably and accurately assessed. These methods and processes also involve revalidation procedures and re-entry requirements for registrant who come off the register for a period of time.
The Education and Training Committee, where necessary, takes appropriate advice from external organisations and individuals.
