ITT: Fit for the future: public health people, a review of the public health workforce

This ITT has been developed by UKPHR to invite proposals from suitably experienced and qualified supplier(s) of Public Health Educational Standards Services, to support a joint working party of the Faculty of Public Health and UKPHR which has been set up to respond to Recommendation 5.1 in Public Health England’s report – Fit for the future: public health people, a review of the public health workforce May 2016.

The recommendation reads as follows:

Explore the viability of a more responsive approach to public health training and accreditation, (e.g. a ‘fast track’ 2-year training scheme) to enable those with experience (e.g. existing local authority directors with some public health skills and experience) to become fully trained in public health, via a conversion course or ‘top ups’. This would sit alongside the existing training scheme and be integrated into current routes to specialist registration – relevant organisations (lead in bold): FPH, UKPHR

The provider will make evidence-informed recommendations on changes that FPH and UKPHR would need to make to guidance and equivalence processes for the assessment of standards in order to implement the recommendation.

The deadline for submission of tenders is 10.00am on Monday 6th March 2017.
