Extended consultation and additional questions

The Department has officially amended the consultation on statutory regulation of non-medical public health specialists.

The consultation period has been extended by an extra 4 weeks, making it now a 10 week consultation with the closing date now the 14th November 2014.

There also has been the addition of two new questions which consist of the following:

  • Do you agree with the Department’s decision that the HCPC should be the statutory regulator for public health specialists from backgrounds other than medicine or dentistry. If not, who and why?
  • Do you think that public health specialists should be regulated by another body? If so, who and why?

The Department will also be contacting all those who have already responded to inform them of the changes and providing them the opportunity to comment further.
